Saturday Pm saw a BBQ in the rain but still the fun was there.
Unfortunatley we had to leave early on the Sunday for work but it was well worth the Drive to have that bit of fun.

Stratford Upon Avon MH show Motorhomefun meet
Well we attended the Stratford US rv and motorhome show with www.motorhomefun.co.uk We arrived on Friday afternoon. On arrival we were escorted to our pitch, well we were lucky to have one really as the fields had flooded earlier in the week and led to a bit of doubt to if the show would go ahead. When we arrived it was all pretty much dry. Jim the ringleader of Motorhomefun had managed to secure a pitch for us where we were all squashed in a bit but able to at least get together to have a bit of a party. We met some old faces and of course some new ones. On the Friday George ran around the whole race course just to prove he could do it. I dont think he actually jumped the fences though!!!. Of course as with anything these days, there were complaints. The racecourse is apparantly the queens property and people on it is a no no. That bloody queen of ours is she not happy with the other 1 mil acres she owns? Well anyway the kids met some new friends and set about playing and we set about having a few drinks with the new neighbours. There was some action in the early hours of Sat morning when some local yokels attempted to steal a BBQ from underneath Gail and Tonys van. As per usual I slept right through the lot of it but Nikki heard a few noises and thought they were just rowing. On the Saturday Nikki and George walked in to Stratford for a little tour whilst me and Harley relaxed at the van. I attended the show and had a look round in what seemed 5 mins. The only thing I spotted was the thought of getting a transfer for the bonnet of the van. At £50 it seemed quite dear but looked nice. Nikki and I then had a look around the show by ourselves whilst we once again suffered the trauma of should we or should we not buy a new van. The problem is that in this current financial climate we really feel that we shouldn't. There's nothing wrong with our van and the fact is we and the kids love it but the extra room of something that is slightly bigger appeals. We even tried out a few RVs for size and jealously agreed that they were really really nice and given our lucky numbers we will purchase one. Anyhow at least at the show we decided on one thing. That is we will go full timing yep we will, its official we both want to and will set about doing it. The good news is that we have several years of planning available. We wont do it until such a time when the children have finished school but we will do it. So barring any health issues we should be hitting the road in 9 years. Sounds alot I know but its nice to share a dream together and watch it become reality. Furthermore any one that knows me knows if I set my mind to something I will do it. What made all this worse was on the Saturday night Rex and Marie arranged an improptue BBQ. Nearly all attended at some point and whilst there we met a couple of couples whom were already living our dream. They were telling such good stories it just made me want to go tomorrow. Anyhow it was lovely to hear the tales of fulltimers and although very jealous no not jealous, envious, I really admire the courage of these people that opt to do it. It takes courage and comittment, but when the grim reaper decides to call you its better to of done it than of wished you had before you go on your walk with him. Anyhow on to the BBQ, now this was magic, ourcampersbeentrashed from motorhome fun brought over a real BBQ and we all threw our food on it. There was plenty of ale going down and in some ones case too much (more later). we chatted and the kids played amongst each other and we followed this by going off to watch the firework display at the end of the show. the kids went off to bed and we stayed up sharing a few more drinks with everyone. Nikki continued to have her glass filled with red white and anyother colour wine along with lemonade. After a while Nikki disapeared. I went to find out wher she had got to only to discover that she was back at the motorhome. She was crouched over the sink and well you know the rest to much drink and not enough water before hand. When will she learn, in the past 3 years Ive known her be sick in the van 4 times (once physicaly) yet at home shes a different animal and rarely Pixxed. We had a really good time at Stratford despite the show being rubbish, and on Sunday I had to re enter the real world to go back to work on the late. We said our goodbyes and toddled off. Its strange that we really needed a good weekend with the pressures of work, life and kids is giving us lately. With the cost of living especially diesel rising so much when spending money it makes such a difference to feel you have had a great time with what you spent. See you next time where we are off on another meet where we will be in a fishing competition. And then after which its off to the Midsummer music festival. Bye for now.
